Hollow Knight: Silksong is an indie game that many hardcore gamers have been waiting for since the prequel came out eight years ago in 2017. Hollow Knight: Silksong was developed and published by indie game studio Team Cherry and was released across every platform you could think of. Hollow Kinght: Silksong is a game making the metroidvania genre popular again because its a title that people had been hyping up for over the past year or so. The original Hollow Knight song from 2017 ended being far more successful than people expected since it ended up selling more than 15 million copies worldwide since its release during the PS4/Xbox One era. The original Hollow Knight game was praised for its atmosphere, art and combat system which is something that Silksong had improved upon following its release on September 4th.

Silksong has smooth and fluid gameplay along with bigger maps and tougher bosses who deal more damage than the ones in the original Hollow Knight game. The metroidvania genre has been slowly appealing to causal gamers but its not quite as popular like RPG’s, action-adventure or shooter games. Silksong might quite possibly be remembered as the most popular indie title of 2025 and might probably be looked back as one of the best metroidvania titles of the 2020’s one the decade is over.
