Its hard to believe that its been ten years since Batman: Arkham Knight was released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The third game of the Arkham trilogy was considered to be a great action-adventure title by many but was arguably the least popular entry. It should also noted that in terms of sales Batman: Arkham Knight did not sell as much as its predecessors from prior years. Batman: Arkham Asylum went on to sell around 9.5 million copies while Arkham City did more than 12 million. Batman: Arkham Knight sold more than five million copies worldwide which was still good but casual gamers were clearly losing interest in the series around this time period. Despite, the lack of that Arkham Knights had compared to its prequels it had the best combat and gameplay mechanics of the entire trilogy. Batman: Arkham Knight presented players with an open-world environment in Gotham where players had access to seemingly endless weapons. In Arkham Knight players had gadgets like batrangs, grapnel guns, voice synthesizers and even had the ability to drive the batmobile.

The Freeflow Combat included in Arkham Knight was amazing and the ability to glide long distances using Batman’s cape added more depth to the game’s mechanics. Batman Arkham Knight featured fourteen different missions and included antagonists such as: Scarecrow, Arkham Knight, Two-Face Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy and Joker. Along with being able to control Batman there are certain missions in Arkham Knight where players get to play as Nightwing, Catwoman or Robin for those who purchased DLC. Sadly, Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment and Rocksteady Studios never gave us a sequel to Arkham Knight since its release ten years ago. However, there have been rumors going around about the possibility of a new Batman game sometime years from now. Batman: Arkham Knight was one of the few high profile action-adventure superhero games that we got right before the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man title for the PS4 back in 2018.
