Its hard to believe that the Scott Pilgrim vs The World video game came out 15 years ago for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The Scott Pilgrim vs The World video movie from 2010 was one that is considered to be a cult classic by the gaming community. Scott Pilgrim vs the World was a fictional romantic comedy movie that saw the main protagonist competing against rival musicians in order gain a new record deal. The antagonists in Scott Pilgrim vs The World were Ramona Flowers ex-boyfriends and the battles had a video game themed battle of the bands type of dynamic. Despite, the Scott Pilgrim being a box office bomb in theaters the movie was something that catered to a niche audience of fans within the past several years.

The Scott Pilgrim video game was fantastic because of its modern day pixelated graphics which payed homage to arcade beat em up genre of gaming. The game allowed four players simultaneously and featured seven playable characters who had their own respective endings. The Scott Pilgrim vs The World beat em up game was truly underrated as a beat em up and does get talked about as much as it should. The popularity and nostalgia of the Scott Pilgrim series eventually lead to creation of an animated series based off the movie which came out on Netflix back in late 2023. Its a shame that the Scott Pilgrim vs the World game never got an official sequel; but its not surprising since the 2010 movie never got an official sequel either. Even though, its been fifteen years since the Scott Pilgrim video game was released it has aged like wine and is quite possibly one of the best beat em up titles of the 10’s decade.
