WWF: WrestleMania: The Arcade game is one of the most iconic pro wrestling games from the 90’s. The WrestleMania Arcade came out during WWE’s New Generation era which was considered to be one of the lowest periods in the company’s history in terms of business. However, the WrestleMania Arcade game from ’95 was one of those games that stood out from other pro wrestling tiles from the 90’s mainly due to how similar it was to the Mortal Kombat series in terms of gameplay. The WrestleMania Arcade game featured some of the biggest Superstars from the. mid 90’s including The Undertaker, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Razor Ramon, Lex Luger andYokozuna. Even though, The WrestleMania Arcade Game was addictive it was criticized for being to cartoonish unlike previous titles like WWF Raw from ’94. Despite, how silly and comical the gameplay for the WrestleMania Arcade Game was it was still very challenging especially when players decided to challenge for the WWF or Intercontinental Championship. When challenging for championships players were expected to endure 3-1 and 2-1 handicap matches.

Players were also allowed to challenge for the Tag-Team Championships in co-op mode which was one of the best features about the game. One of the reasons why WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade gets overlooked is because there were better games on the N64 during the late 90’s including WCW vs nWo World Tour, WCW/nWo Revenge along with WrestleMania 2000. The WrestleMania: Arcade Game was a Midway creation which is why the gameplay highly resembled the older Mortal Kombat games minus the fatalities, blood and gore. Despite, being a fun fast-paced fighting from the Sega Genesis/SNES era of gaming its one that has aged poorly in terms of graphics. Also, the gameplay in the WWF WrestleMania: Arcade Game feel too unrealistic to be taken seriously which might be the whole point of the video game itself. If WrestleMania: The Arcade had more playable characters it would probably would of been slightly better but it still would of paled in comparison to almost every other pro wrestling game the came after it.
