
Marvel Super Heroes is considered to be one of the most legendary arcade fighting games of the 90’s. Marvel Super Heroes was a arcade game released by 30 years ago and features some of the top characters in the Marvel Universe. Marvel Super Heroes was another major CPS II arcade title that followed the critically acclaimed X-Men Children of the Atom game which came out in 1994. Marvel Super Heroes featured the likes of Spider-Man, Captain America, Wolverine, Hulk , Iron Man, Blackheart, Juggernaut, Psylocke and Magneto and Doctor Doom. While the roster for Marvel Super Heroes was small the game itself was very addictive in arcade centers during the 90’s. The ability to utilize the Infinity gems during battles added depth to the gameplay for Marvel Super Heroes. Marvel Super Heroes saw Thanos as the main antagonist and the final boss as he plans on using all six of the Infinity Stones to take over the world.

Almost everything about the Marvel Super Heroes arcade game was top notch from the gameplay and graphics all the down to the character designs and theme songs. The animation in Marvel Super Heroes was among some of the best that you would see in a 2D fighting title back in the 90’s. One of the reasons why Marvel Super Heroes was an important game back in the day was because it was one the games that paved the way for the Marvel vs Capcom series. Marvel Super Heroes came out a year before X-Men vs Street Fighter which appeared in Japanese arcade centers during 1996. Marvel Super Heroes was one of those titles that helped keep the 2D fighting genre alive during a time period where gamers were becoming more interested in 3D gaming and graphics. Even though, Marvel Super Heroes is three decades old the game has aged gracefully and is every bit as addictive today as it was back in 1995.
