Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth was one of the few RPG’s from 2024 that gamers and critics were throughly impressed by. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth had everything you could ask for breathtaking visuals, decent dialogue, beautiful open-world environments and fun mini-games. The graphics, animation and characters all look highly detailed and looked almost as good as the its 2020 prequel Final Fantasy VII: Remake. The for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is a continuation of the original FFVII game seeing Cloud Strife attempting to save the world from eco-terrorists. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth included fourteen chapters and seven playable characters featuring the likes of Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockheart, Barrett Wallace and Aerith Gainsborough. While Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth is filled with positives its been criticized for being too linear and not having enough RPG elements.

Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth does not have multiple endings based choices players make despite being an action role-playing which was somewhat disappointing. However, the real-time exploration aspect of Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth along with the combat system compensates for the game’s weakness. Square Enix had high hopes Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth but unfortunately the game has fell below the companies desired expectations in relation to sales. Final Fantasy VII: Remake from 2020 has managed to reach at least seven million in sales since it release on the PlayStation 4. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth which came out in early 2024 has been considered a commercial failure since Square Enix have been mostly quiet about its sales. Its well known fact that Altus’s Metaphor ReFantasio sold more one million copies since its release in 2024 along with Sega’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. While Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth may have been a disappointment in sales but based on some other RPG’s that came out this year its not too surprising. Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth had some competition within the RPG genre and Square Enix has been living off the success of the original FFVII game for several years now.
