It seems like Gamescom 2024 had received a mixed reception of gamers so far. However, one of the few surprises that we got from the event thus far was the announcement of a new Dying Light game. The trailer that Techland gave us is for the sequel for Dying Light: Stay Human from 2022 known as Dying Light: The Beast. As many people expected Dying Light: The Beast is “M” rated and will be appearing on platforms such as Steam, Xbox Series X along with the PlayStation 5. Aside from having a fantastic trailer featuring blood and gore one of the biggest takeaways from the Dying Light: The Beast was the return of Kyle Crane who was the protagonist of the original game which came out in 2015. Even though, Dying Light 2 was arguably a better game than the original more people believe that Kyle Crane was a better character than Aiden Caldwell. The parkour gameplay from previous installments returns in Dying Light: The Beast and looking better than ever with compelling cutscenes. As it currently stands there is no official release date for Dying Light: The Beast but it seems unlikely that it the full version of the game will be available anytime in 2024. The possible reason why Techland had decided to bring Kyle Crane back is because of nostalgia along with the fact that the original game managed to sell around 20 million copies following its release. Dying Light 2 from 2022 has only managed to reach around 5 million copies in sales which is decent but still far less than what its predecessor did.
