It seems like Nintendo has been getting talked about a lot lately whether it be positive or negative news. Aside from the success of some of Nintendo’s latest games something that people are talking about right now is the GameCube console. For those who do not know Nintendo launched the GameCube console in retail back in 2001. Despite, its impressive hardware design the console that appeared in retailers worldwide is somewhat different from the original prototype that Nintendo developed. Recently, a picture of a rare GameCube prototype also known as Nintendo Dolphin appeared online on a website known as consolevariations.com. As seen in the picture the logo on the Nintendo Dolphin prototype is different than the one you would see on the finished GameCube console that actually made to retail. Its uncertain whether or not the Nintendo Dolphin prototype actually works. In fact, its uncertain if more models of the Nintendo Dolphin prototype exist beyond the one consolevariations.com had shared online. If anything the Nintendo Dolphin is quite possibly as rare as the unreleased Nintendo-PlayStation console from the mid 90’s which is worth more that six-figures today.

  1. I wonder if protypes for other consoles from the 6th generation will be seen. That GameCube prototype looks pretty neat.
