Its hard to believe that is has been more than 30 years since Sega released Sonic CD. Sonic CD is considered to be one of the most legendary entries within the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Sonic CD was released for Sega CD back in ’93 and was the first game that Amy Rose and Metal Sonic appeared in. The concept of time travel was one of the few things that made Sonic CD stand out more than the likes of Sonic 1, 2 and 3. The soundtrack, level designs along with game’s intro were all amazing. The dark atmosphere in Sonic CD was also a strong positive also seeing that the Sega Genesis games were all campy, light-hearted and cheerful. Sega is not too big on remaking older Sonic games not even Sonic Adventure 2 from 2001 which was arguably their greatest 3D Sonic game ever. Sonic CD is a game that could have sold more than it did if released during a different time period. A 3D remake of Sonic CD would be great and would probably appeal to casuals while bringing back lapsed fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
