Hotline Miami had at least 20 different levels and the game was set in the late 80’s where players had to assassinate multiple members of the Russian Mafia. Hotline Miami was published by Devolver Digital and it was one of most underrated “M” rated titles of the early 10’s. Hotline Miami looked like it would have been better off as a 3D action-adventure or a third person shooter. Hotline Miami is one of those games that developed a cult following over the past decade and even spawned a sequel back in 2015. At one point Hotline Miami was banned in certain country due to its excessive blood, gore and sexual imagery. Hotline Miami had received a MA15+ rating and the game along with its sequel is unlikely going to get a remake. Hotline Miami was a commercial flop when it first came out in 2012 and it would unlikely do better in sales today. The top down shooter genre of gaming has been played out for over two decades and it shocking the Hotline Miami became as popular as it did during the mid 2010’s. A Hotline Miami 3 seems out of the question at the moment especially since there has not been any talks or announcements from Devolver Digital about it happening in the future.
