Everyone knows Capcom is planning on releasing the next major installment of the Resident Evil series sometime during 2025 or 2026. There are many people excited about the upcoming Resident Evil 9 game but we currently have no ideas on what to expect. There has been no gameplay footage or screenshots of Resident Evil 9 but we do know that game is currently in development. The last main entry within the Resident Evil series was the Village game from 2021 which sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. The Village game came after Resident Evil 7: Biohazard from 2017 a game that arguably saved the franchise. It seems like the survival-horror genre is going to eventually skyrocket in popularity throughout the rest of the 2020’s decade. Seeing that the survival-horror genre is getting more mainstream attention than it did during the 2010’s Capcom should really do something special with Resident Evil 9. The idea of including virtual reality game is something that Capcom could use to attract more casuals to their legendary survival-horror franchise. Since Capcom decided to introduce a VR Mode in the Resident Evil 4: Remake which came out in 2023 why not do the same with Resident Evil 9. Even though, virtual reality has yet to peak in popularity it looks like the headsets might eventually become the future of gaming despite how expensive they are. The PSVR 2 makes for an immersive gaming experience as seen with the Resident Evil 4: Remake. Resident Evil 9 could end up being one of the best selling video games on the PlayStation 5 with the good story along with an unforgettable gameplay experience.
