The Xbox Games Showcase 2024 was something that many people had nothing but good things to say about. There were a variety of high profile video games to have emerged from the latest Xbox Games Showcase with the highly anticipated State of Decade 3 game being one of them. This upcoming game is the sequel to State of Decay 2 which came out years ago back in 2018. The trailer for State of Decay 3 showed several cutscenes along with some gameplay footage and narration. State of Decay 3 will be developed by Undead Labs and published by Xbox Games Studios. This upcoming game has the potential to be one of the most popular survival-horror shooter games of the mid 2020’s depending on what year the game is released.

The setting for State of Decay 3 is post-apocalyptic and takes place years following a massive zombie apocalypse that wiped out a majority of humanity. While there are still limited details concerning the actual in game features of State of Decay 3 there has been rumors going around about creators working on possibly creating a more robust multiplayer mode compared to its predecessor. It should also be noted that State of Decay 3 will be among the first few video games that will be utilizing the Unreal Engine 5 which is a pretty cool thing. The official release date for State of Decay 3 is still currently unknown but its expected to be in stores no later than 2025. The State of Decay series is obviously still an attraction and has a bit of casual appeal especially since the latest installment within the series reached around 4.5 million copies in sales. The 2020’s is shaping up to be a good decade for the survival-horror genre of gaming and with all the hype its been getting State of Decay 3 has the potential to surpass its prequel in relation to overall sales.
