Its hard to believe the Kirby & The Amazing Mirror came out 20 years ago on the Game Boy Advance. Kirby & The Amazing Mirror was one of the more memorable video games within its own series during the 2000’s along with the likes of the Nightmare To Dreamland from 2002. The Amazing Mirror game had everything you could ask good graphics, catchy soundtracks along with an interesting storyline that saw Kirby divided into four different beings. Dark Meta being the main villain for The Amazing Mirror game was pretty cool because he looked more serious than King Dedede who is generally the primary antagonist of the Kirby series. Kirby & The Amazing also had various mini-games sub-bosses and worlds that players traveled through in order to collect eight Mirror pieces that Meta Knight was sealed into. Despite, how good The Amazing Mirror was on GBA in 2004 it was not quite as popular as the Nightmare from Dreamland game. The final boss Nightmare from the ’02 Kirby game was more menacing than Dark Meta.

Also, Dedede was a more recognized name within the series which contributed to the popularity of Nightmare from Dreamland. Some would go on record and argue that the 2000’s was an underrated decade for the Kirby series on consoles such as: GameCube, Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. However, when it came down to handheld consoles Kirby much like Mega Man, Donkey Kong, Metroid and other popular video game franchises ended up getting overshadowed by the Pokemon series which was white hot throughout the 2000’s decade. Its a shame because Kirby & The Amazing Mirror had better gameplay than the Mario Advance trilogy because its gameplay mechanics were anything but basic. The animation included in The Amazing Mirror game looked amazing compared to your typical platform game and looks even better than the Dream Land series from the SNES. After twenty years Kirby & The Amazing Mirror still looks amazing and is far more enjoyable than anything Nintendo has recently done Kirby within the past couple of years.
