Art of Fighting 2 is quite possibly one of the most underrated fighting titles from the 90’s. Art of Fighting 2 was generally overlooked in the 90’s because it was a product of SNK which was not nearly as popular as Capcom’s Street Fighter series back in the day. This game was the sequel to the original Art of Fighting game that came out in 1992 and had a decent roster of characters and improved gameplay mechanics. Also, unlike the Street Fighter II series that game had a story opposed to a generic arcade mode which featured top characters like Ryo Sakazaki, Robert Garcia, Mr. Big, Lee Pai Long, Yuri Sakazaki and others. Art of Fighting 2 had Gesse Howard as the main antagonist who replaced Mr. Karate who the final boss of the ’92 prequel and he ended up being one of the most notorious bosses of the KOF franchise. While Art of Fighting 2 might be outdated by today’s standards its still a pretty cool yet challenging game to play for casuals.

Also with the Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury series we probably would not have the King of Fighters franchise. Art of Fighting 2 has more depth the the older Street Fighter II arcade games but was not nearly as violent or popular as Mortal Kombat was back in the 90’s. Art of Fighting 2 is one of those fighting games that was definitely taken for granted during its time mainly because many people SNK was incapable of producing a better fighting title than Capcom. Art of Fighting 2 was probably one of the most polished fighting titles that SNK had produced during the mid 90’s. The single player gameplay experience in Art of Fighting 2 was proably one of the best you would see in any fighting title during the 90’s from the mini bonus stages all the way down to the dialogue between the characters in arcade mode. Art of Fighting 2 deserves way more credit than it gets and is arguable the best installment within the AOF trilogy from ’92-’96.
