There are many people who have fond memories of the PS3/Xbox 360 Era of gaming during the mid 2000’s-early 2010’s. The Xbox 360 was quite possibly Microsoft’s most successful video game console thus because its a well known fact that it sold more than the original Xbox from 2001. The Xbox 360 has even sold more than the Xbox One console from 2013. Since its release back Q4 2005 the Xbox 360 managed to sell more than 85 million units worldwide. The Xbox One console sold under 60 million units worldwide within the past decade and many believe that it had everything to do with the success of the PS4. The PS4 has been around since Q4 2013 and managed to reach over 117 million units in worldwide sales. The Xbox One console from 2013 was primarily seen as the second most popular game system of the 2010’s being the PS4.
It should also be noted that the best selling third-party video game for the Xbox One was PUBG: Battlegrounds which reach at least 9 million in sales. While the Xbox One console did have other popular video games like Halo 5: Guardians most of them ended up being third party titles that people could play on PC or PlayStation. However, when you look at the Xbox 360 more third party video games shined on that console during the late 00’s-early 10’s. During the Xbox 360 era we got to see games like Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Grand Theft Auto V outsell some of the first party titles on Microsoft’s second generation game system. Along with having so many cool third party video games during the late 2000’s- early 2010’s the Halo series was still very popular especially by the time titles like Halo 3, Halo ODST, Halo Wars and Halo Reach came out. Most of the third party games we got during the 2010’s following the releases of the PS4 & Xbox One seemed boring in comparison to the PS3/Xbox 360 era.
