Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has been one of the most popular action-adventure video games to come out of 2023 and has managed to achieve massive commercial success since its release on October 20th last year. It has been revealed not too long ago that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has managed to reach over five million copies in sales in eleven days. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has the potential to surpass its 2018 predecessor for the PS4 in sales in the upcoming years and its most likely going to be one of the best selling video games of PlayStation 5. The optimal graphics and cinematic cutscenes along with the dialogue and compelling storyline makes Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 one of the best action-adventure games of the 2020’s thus far. Even though, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 just came out there are online rumors about a potential Marvel Spider-Man 3 game being released sometime in the near future. 

The idea of Sony releasing a Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 game for the PlayStation 5 sounds awesome but its something that should probably be saved for the PlayStation 6. The first Marvel’s Spider-Man game was released as a PS4 exclusive during 2018 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 came out in 2023 for the PS5 and they both achieved massive commercial success. The story for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 should bring back the ability to play as more than one Spider-Man while focusing on a popular comic book arc that casuals are familiar with. A potential storyline for Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 that would appeal to the masses is “Maximum Carnage” from the early 90’s comic book series. Since a ton of emphasis was placed on Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 having the sequel focus on his diabolical offspring would make since despite Kraven the Hunter being the main antagonist of the game. While rumors have been suggesting that Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 is currently in development the details surrounding the game are still sketchy. The current believe is that Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 might not arrive until around 2028 on Sony’s next generation game system.
