Hogwarts Legacy was one of the most popular RPG video games of 2023 a year full of high profile video game titles. Hogwarts Legacy came out back in February 2023 and the game had received a ton of mainstream attention before and shortly after its release. There were many people who highly praised the world design of Hogwarts Legacy but criticized the LGBTQ aspects of the game along with the fact that J.K. Rowling was not involved in the creation of the game. Despite, the controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy the game was popular enough to reach at least 22 million copies in sales across multiple gaming platforms throughout 2023. So far Hogwarts Legacy has surpassed the likes of Final Fantasy XVI, Diablo IV, Super Mario RPG: Remake and even Baldur’s Gate 3 in relation to sales. Despite, not being named “Game of the Year” or “RPG of the Year” at The Game Awards is probably the best selling role-playing video game of 2023. Hogwarts Legacy has a $69 price tag following its release and the main story for the game is probably one of the best features it has along with its world design and its various Harry Potter references. Currently, Hogwartz Legacy has a score of “84” on Metacritic and even though it good it still pales in comparison to Baldur’s Gate 3 which has a “96”.
