The Strider series has been around since ’89 and there has been a total three main entries within the series. The latest entry within the Strider series came out a decade ago in 2014 and it was arguably the installment within its entire series. The Strider game from 2014 was basically a reboot that mixed gameplay elements from older titles while having a more modern feel in comparison what Capcom gave players in the past. Strider 2014 was developed by Double Helix Games and Capcom Osaka Studio and had a more darker futuristic metroidvania type of vibe which added to the games overall appeal at the time. Not only was the Strider reboot it one of Capcom’s best games of 2014 but it also managed to reach over one million copies in sales following its release. Even through, Strider 2014 is highly underrated and received praise from critics Capcom never made an official sequel to the since then. There is no question that Strider 2014 is sequel worthy but it seems unlikely that Capcom is going to produce another entry anytime in the near future. Capcom earns bigger profits from franchises like Street Fighter, Resident Evil and Monster Hunter and Strider seems to appeal more to a niche audience of gamers opposed to casuals.
