Almost everyone is looking forward to the upcoming release of Grand Theft Auto VI which is expected to happen sometime future around 2025. RockStar Games has yet to release an official trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 but we already have an idea on what the game is going to look like. We already know that Grand Theft Auto VIU will feature two main characters Lucia and Jason and that the map is supposed to be bigger than what RockStar Games gave us back in 2013 with GTA V. We also know that GTA VI is supposed to have a much bigger budget than its 2013 predecessor which cost approximately $265 million to make. It was suggested back in Summer 2023 that the budget for GTA VI will be somewhere around the ballpark of $2 billion which is more than twice of how much money went into Grand Theft Auto V. It was reported by Take-Two Interactive back in June 2023 that Grand Theft Auto V has made at least $7.7 billion in revenue so its not surprising that GTA 6 has an extremely large budget. While some critics may argue that a $2 billion budget is unnecessary many people are expecting Rockstar Games to do everything they can to create a better title than the universally acclaimed GTA V. While investing $2 billion into Grand Theft Auto VI might be a huge risk the anticipation for the game alone will cause it to sell millions within its first month. However, its hard to believe that Grand Theft Auto VI will have any chance on surpassing GTA V in sales considering the fact that it ended up reaching around 185 million within a decade. A $2 billion budget really does not mean anything if GTA 6 is not entertaining and does not have a compelling storyline. Both Lucia and Jason have to be characters that players can easily get into similar to the likes of Tommy Vercetti and Claude from the GTA: Liberty City and Vice City games. The visual design and marketing of GTA VI can only go so far in terms of drawing the attention of casual gamers which is why the substance in relation to gameplay and storytelling are very important in determining whether or not it will be a more superior title than its ’13 prequel.
