The Saints Row series is one that has been a favorite among many gamers since the mid 2000’s in relation to the action adventure genre of gaming. There are many people who would go on record and argue that the best installment within the Saint’s Row series was the third entry from 2011 with the second one being almost as good. Saints Row 3 managed to reach over five million copies in sales following its release during the PS3/Xbox 360 era and was arguably one of the best action-adventure games that THQ had published back in the 2010’s. Despite, how good Saints Row 3 was the sequel that followed it during 2013 was no where near as good mainly because Saints Row IV was published Deep Silver opposed to THQ. Saints Row IV felt very different from what hardcore fans of the series were expecting mainly because the story felt unbelievable and over the top. Saints Row IV had a more science-fictional vibe to it that involved players gaining superpowers while trying to fight off an alien invasion after being elected as the President of the United States. Not only did Saints Row IV have a ridiculous storyline but it felt like a complete 180 from the original installment from 2006 that heavily focused on realism and gang warfare in the streets of Stilwater. The minute THQ lost the license for the Saints Row series was arguably the beginning of the end franchise and despite how bad Saints Row IV was there are many people who would argue that it was more exciting than the most recent installment from 2022. Following its release Saints Row 2022 got a mainly mixed reception from critics and gaming publications because it fell below their desired expectations after the series was on somewhat of a hiatus. Saints Row 2022 ended up being the final entry within its series due to the Volition studio shutting down and the reception for the game was so unfavorable to a point were many believe the franchise should have ended after 2013. The Saints Row series is one that many believed peaked way too soon while getting lost in the shuffle competition wise in relation to the action-adventure genre.
