The indie RPG Sea of Stars game was just releases recently and many critics and gaming publishers have nothing but good things to say about it. Sea of Stars was developed and published by Sabotage Studios and was created with the Unity engine and pays homage to the retro 16-bit RPG era of the 90’s. Sea of Stars is a game that takes less than 30 hours to complete with two different endings and has amazing pixel artwork and compelling dialogue. Sea of Stars was released on August 29th and within its first 24 hours in retail it managed to reach roughly around 100,000 copies in sales. For an indie RPG Sea of Stars that number is not to bad for its first day but was obviously not going to sell million within 48 hours or anything. So far we have seen some high profile RPG titles come out in 2023 including the likes of Hogwarts Legacy, Diabio IV, Final Fantasy XVI and Baulder’s Gate 3. Sea of Stars would have been better off being released in 2024 since it has seemingly been overshadowed by all the other RPG’s that has come out this year. Sea of Stars could possibly reach one million in sales within a year but the game appeals more to a niche audience opposed to casual gamers.
