It seems like more classic games are either being remade or remastered to current generation game consoles nowadays. It seems like The Darkness game from 2007 might be one of the many games that will soon be remastered for current generation consoles sometime in the future. For those who do not know The Darkness game is a first-person shooter game published by 2K and Developed by Starbreeze Studios which initially appeared on the PS3 and the Xbox 360. It has been recently reported by video game developer Nightdive Studios is currently has The Darkness game on their list in relation to receiving an modern update. Despite, not being a massive commercial success various gaming publishers and critics had nothing but good things to say about it during the late 2000’s due to its dark story and bleak atmosphere; where the main protagonist Jackie Estacado is possessed by a dark supernatural entity take revenge on the NYC mob following their attempt to assassinate him. The success of the game lead to a 2012 sequel entitled The Darkness 2 a game that fans have wanted to see remastered for quite sometime now. While many people were probably disappointed that 2K never made a Darkness 3 game it was quite understandable considering how much the landscape of gaming had changed throughout majority of the 2010’s decade. The first-person shooter genre is not quite as popular as it once was back in the 2000’s and early 2010’s so its questionable how successful a remastered version of The Darkness game will end up becoming.
