It seems like 2023 has been a mostly good year for the gaming world thus far in relation to news. There have been nothing but high profile video game releases throughout 2023 and the world is still talking about Super Mario Bros. Movie that came out in theaters back in April 2023. While 2023 has been a pretty good year for gaming in general we have also received our fair share of shocking news as well in relation to video game companies laying off employees as well. Recently, the news has broke that Rockstar Games Vice President of Writing Michael Unsworth has apparently left the studio based on what was seen on his Linkedin profile. Michael’s departure from Rockstar Games is something that was very unexpected especially since he had been working with them since the late 2000’s. Michael Unsworth is known for working on high profile Rockstar video games such as Grand Theft Auto IV, L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3 along with the critically acclaimed Red Dead Redemption II. There are many who feel that Michael Unsworth’s departure from Rockstar Games could end up being detrimental to the Red Dead Redemption series since he was a significant part of why the latest installment from 2018 was so good. Michael Unsworth himself has not necessarily confirmed his departure from Rockstar Games but it would not be surprising either if the story is true.
