There is no question whatsoever that the PlayStation 5 is the hottest game console in retail right now. Since its release back in late 2020 the PS5 has been dominating the Xbox Series X in relation to sales and has managed to feature some of the most high profile video games of the 2020’s decade thus far. There have been games like God of War: Ragnorok which has brought in a ton of revenue for Sony and we still have titles like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which is set to be released for the PlayStation 5 in the near future. At this point the PlayStation 5 has been available in retail for over two years and it has already reached at least 40 million units sold worldwide which is nothing short of incredible. The sales number concerning the PlayStation 5 was reported by Sony themselves and its a number that is expected to increase dramatically before 2024 since the holiday season is coming up soon. The best selling games for the PS4 included titles like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man for the PS4 games that came out back in 2018. The top two best selling games for the PS4 reached over 19 million copies sold worldwide following their respective releases back in 2018. Seeing how much the PS5 has sold so far its possible that it could end up surpassing its 2013 predecessor in overall sales. It took the PS4 at least a decade to reach over 117.million in worldwide sales and it seems like PS5 is off good start in possible surpassing it sales wise.
