It seems like 2023 has been filled with nothing but exciting and unpredictable news in relation to the gaming world. While 2023 has been mostly a good year for Sega thus far we have recently learned that Sega has big plans for some of their most iconic video game franchises for the future. One of the biggest rumors regarding Sega that has been circulating on the Internet is that corporation plans on reviving classic franchises that were popular back in the 90’s including Gunstar Heroes and Altered Beast. It should be noted that Gunstar Heroes and the Altered Beast series has been dead since the 90’s but they are both classics that many older gamers have fond memories of. Gunstar Heroes was an adventurous run and gun game that deserved more spotlight along with a series of sequels. The last main Altered Beast we got to see was the “Guardian of the Realms” title for Game Boy Advance back in 2002. Unfortunately, Altered Beast: Guardian of the Realms was overshadowed by a variety of video games that appeared on the Game Boy Advance back in the 00’s including the Pokemon and Super Mario Advance series. The rumors regarding Sega plans to revive Gunstar Heroes along with the Altered Beast series comes from a video game leaker named Shpeshal Nick; who reported this news on the latest edition of the Xbox Era Podcast. Whether or not these claims are true remains to be seen since Sega has yet to confirm anything regarding GunStar Heroes or the Altered Beast series.
