It seems like Square Enix has been very adamant about remaking or remastering older entries within the Final Fantasy series as of late. We recently learned that Final Fantasy IX is supposed to be getting a remake which is expected to be released for current generation game systems sometime between 2024-2025. There has also been rumors about a potential Final Fantasy X/X2 remake which is something that has been swirling around the internet as of late. While we know that Square Enix is always interested in remaking main entires within the Final Fantasy series they have yet to do anything in relation to spin-off games unless its being remastered. There are definitely some Final Fantasy spin-off games that many people would love to see get an actual remake like Final Fantasy Tactics A2 especially considering how underrated the JRPG game was back in the late 2000’s. There are also there spin-off games within the series that hardcore FF fans would love to see remakes for including Final Fantasy Type-O, Dissidia: Final Fantasy and Final Fantasy Mystic Quest. However, we all know that Square Enix is only going to focus on remaking entires like Final Fantasy VII which brought in more revenue them. The Final Fantasy main series appeals more to casuals than the spin-offs games and Square Enix is definitely going to capitalize on that more than anything in relation to increasing their profits.
