As many people know the Uncharted series was one of the most popular video game franchises to have appeared on Sony’s PlayStation consoles from PS3 to PS5. The latest main entry Uncharted game that we got to see was Uncharted 4 which appeared on the PlayStation 4 back in 2016. Since its release Uncharted 4 managed to sell over fifteen million copies worldwide on the PS4 and its a game that people believe deserve a sequel. Its been at least seven years since Uncharted 4 was released and despite being a critically-acclaimed action-adventure title many would probably go one record and argue that its not the best entry within its series. There are critics who believe that Uncharted 1 or 2 takes the title of the best Uncharted game especially in relation gameplay. While storytelling aspect in Uncharted 3 was impressive it did not have as much commercial success as its 2016 successor. Even though, we recently got to see a high profile Uncharted movie in 2022; does not mean that we are guaranteed another Uncharted game anytime in the near future. The Uncharted movie from 2022 grossed over $401 million in box office revenue and is considered to be one of the best video game movies of the 2020’s so far. Despite, the success of the Uncharted film Naughty Dog or Sony Interactive Entertainment does not seem to have any plans on releasing another installment. Even if Sony Interactive Entertainment decided to release another Uncharted game it would be hard to try and top the amount of commercial success of the title we got from 2016.
