Ever since Street Fighter 6 was released back on June 2nd the game has received nothing but praise from critics and various gaming publications. The strong points of Street Fighter 6 included its gameplay, visual presentation, Campaign mode along with the return of World Tour Mode. The roster of characters included in Street Fighter 6 is very impressive since it saw the return of numerous fan favorite characters including Ryu, Ken, Guile, Chun-Li, Cammy, Juri-Han and more. The inclusion of new characters such as Kimberly, Luke, Marissa, Manon, Lily and Jamie was also something that many people enjoyed since they all had distinct and unique personalities. While Street Fighter 6 has gained a mainly positive reception thus far it has only managed to sell over one million copies worldwide since its release. Even though, Street Fighter 6 only been available in retail for a few weeks many expected that game to have sold much more than it did; considering the amount of hype the game received prior to its release. It took Street Fighter V about six or seven years to reach around seven million units in worldwide sales following its release back in 2016. Street Fighter 6 might end up becoming one of those games that ends up following the trend of its predecessor in terms of selling millions of copies worldwide within next few years. There is no question whatsoever that Street Fighter 6 is most likely going to go down as the “Best Fighting Game of 2023”. The question is whether or not Street Fighter 6 is going to surpass SFV in relation to sales. In terms of game modes Street Fighter 6 gives players more gameplay options than its predecessor but will the game end up generating more revenue for Capcom within the next few years is questionable.
