Tekken 3- Does it deserve a current generation remake?

When it comes down to legendary arcade fighting games from the 90’s Tekken 3 was arguably the best title to have emerged from that decade. It been around 25 years since Tekken 3 was first released and it became one of the most successful video games of the late 90’s on the original PlayStation console. Tekken 3 managed to reach over 8.3 million copies on the original PlayStation console and is arguably the best installment within the entire franchise. As popular as Tekken 3 was for whatever reason Namco never bothered to develop an official remake for the game. While it might be true that Namco is not too big on remaking classic Tekken games the third installment should definitely be an exception. Not too long ago we got to see a anime adaptation of Tekken 3 on Netflix called “Tekken: Bloodine” which shows how popular the game still is today. Seeing a remake of Tekken 3 on the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X with a brand new campaign mode that covers the events surrounding the third King of the Iron Fist Tournament would be very intriguing. There has been a petition for a remake of Tekken 3 at change.org for least three years now and people who have signed it would love to see Namco possibly turn that fantasy into a reality. While Tekken 8 is the game that everyone is look forward to see right now there are other classics like Tekken 2 and Tekken 5 that Namco should remaking in the future of the demand from the online gaming community is high enough.
