When it comes down to NES Classics Ice Climbers is a title that many think in regards to video games from the 80’s.  Ice Climbers is one of the few platform games that never received any type of SNES sequel.  Some might argue that Ice Climbers was was over shadowed by countless platform titles such as Super Mario Bros, Castlevania, Mega Man, Adventure Island and others.

The whole concept of Ice Climbers was basic and involved passing through each level by going upwards instead of sideways like many other traditional 2D platformers. One of the cool things about Ice Climbers was that it was a multiplayer platform title that where two players could play simultaneously instead of taking terms unlike the Super Mario Bros Trilogy for the NES.  Looking back at things now it would have been interesting to see what an Ice Climbers game would have looked like on the SNES or the Nintendo 64 especially since the landscape of gaming had started to dramatically evolve throughout the 90’s.
