As of right now there has not been too much talk about a potential sequel to Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch.  However, we all know that without a doubt there will definitely be a Mario Kart 9 in the future.  The question that many people have is when will Mario Kart 9 be released.  While some might argue that 2018 feels too early for Nintendo to release Mario Kart 9 others tend to disagree considering the fact that the original Mario Kart 8 game was released in the Spring of 2014.

When Nintendo eventually releases Mario Kart 9 some are wondering whether or not it should be for the Switch console versus the Nintendo 3DS XL similar to how Mario Kart 7 was a over five years ago for the 3DS.      As of right now it makes more sense for Nintendo to go with the Switch console for a potential Mario Kart 9 game considering the amount of popularity the system has gained within a few months following its release.
