As long as we can remember Metroid games have mainly been featured on Nintendo based consoles.  Even though, Metroid is one of the most popular action adventure series in gaming world some might question whether or not the it could have achieved the same level of popularity on other consoles.  If Super Metroid was released for the Sega Genesis in msteas if the SNES would it still have been considered a masterpiece?

If we saw more Metroid games on the PS1, PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360 it would probably still thrive in terms of sales.  However, releasing a majority of Metroid games on Nintendo based consoles is one of the few things that contributed to the appeal of the series itself.  Since Metroid titles are exclusively for Nintendo based consoles games such as Super Metroidand the Metroid Prime Trilogy are more valuable.
