The landscape of gaming has changed dramatically over the past three decades.  We went from the 8 bit era all the way to high quality gameplay and 4K visuals.  Not do people question whether or not Atari can adapt with the times in terms of modern day gaming but some are wondering which demographic the Ataribox is going to target.  As of right now game consoles such as the PS4 and the Xbox One seems to target adults with games such as Uncharted 4, Halo Wars 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

We also have Nintendo based consoles such as the Wii-U and the Switch which are family friendly such as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which are both very successful titles in terms of worldwide sales.  Back in the late 70’s and early 80’s Atari had family friendly games which was a significant part of the company’s success back in the day.  Also, it seems like competing with the likes of Sony or Microsoft is impossible since Nintendo has been struggling to stay on par with both companies since early 00’s in terms of gaming.  If Atari sticks to what is familiar in terms of making family friendly games while they could definitely give the Nintendo Switch a run for its money.
