The Neo Geo is a game console that does not get the type of recognition that it deserves.  When the Neo Geo AES was released back in 1990 for the price of $649 many people never purchased the console in America because it was too expensive.  In fact the only exposure that most people in America got to Neo Geo games were in arcade centers.  When it comes down to memorable fighting titles for Neo Geo based consoles the King of Fighters series generally comes to mind.

The King of Fighters series along with Art of Fighting were games that were often seen in arcade centers.  Even though, fighting titles were often seen in arcade centers some people would question on whether or not they were as memorable as other titles within the genre such as Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or even the Tekken series.  If Neo Geo games were marketed more then they were back in the 90’s they could have easily been more popular then they were.  Just because Neo Geo were not as popular in America as they were in Japan it does not mean that they were not memorable.
