There were not too many fighting games featured on the Nintendo 64 back in 90’s.  In fact most of the fighting games on the N64 were overshadowed by titles that were featured on the Sony PlayStation including the Tekken and Street Fighter Alpha series. Games like Fighters Destiny were highly underrated for the N64 and did not get the type of credit that it deserved.

In terms of sales Fighters Destiny did not do too well due to a competitive atmosphere in the fighting genre with games such as Soul Calibur, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and other titles becoming big.  Also, the rise of 2D crossover fighting games became really big in arcade centers which may have played a significant role in titles like Fighters Destiny being overshadowed in the late 90’s.  If Fighters Destiny was released for Sony PlayStation the game may have achieved more popularity and success then it did on the N64.
