Backwards compatibility is something that should be more prominent with modern day consoles.  The fact that the Xbox One X is backwards compatible is something that makes the console more appealing than the Xbox One which lacked backwards compatibility.  The fact that the Xbox One X has backwards compatibility makes the console more appealing in the gaming market.  

Despite, the fact the Xbox One X is going to be priced at $499 the console seems like something that people would consider buying once it’s released in Fall 2017.  The backwards compatibility that is featured in the Xbox One X will definitely make the console itself more appealing than the original Xbox One which was released in 2013.  The lack of backwards compatibility may have been one of the reasons why the Xbox One paled in comparison to the PS4 in terms of sales in the past couple of years.
