At the Xbox Games Showcase of 2024 there were many cool reveal trailers for upcoming video games that will be appearing on PlayStation, 5, Xbox Series X and Steam. One of the few games that caught people by surprise was Indiana Jones and the Great Circle which will be published by Bethesda Softworks. This upcoming Indiana Jones game will be developed by MachineGames the same company that has been working on the Wolfenstein series since 2014. Based on what we know Bethesda’s upcoming game will be an action-adventure title will feature first-person and third-person gameplay. It has also been mentioned that the setting for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will take place between the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” and the “Last Crusade” movies that came out during the 80;s as the story for the game is set in the 1930’s.

While the Indiana Jones movies series is considered be legendary there are many people who question how much of an attraction the franchise is in 2024. When it comes down to gaming in general we have not seen a really good Indian Jones game since Lego game from 2008. Indiana Jones was far more popular during the 80’s and 90’s and the latest movie “Dial of Destiny from 2023 ended up being a box office flop that drew a polarizing reception from critics. While its cool that we getting a high quality 3D Indian Jones game for the Xbox Series X one has to question how will it do in terms of sales. Even though, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will also be appearing on Steam there are many more interesting games that are supposed be coming out between 2024-2025. Even though, The Great Circle is supposed to be a prequel that follows the events of the original movie; a video game adaptation of Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom or the Last Crusade probably would of appealed more to casual gamers.
