It looks like we are starting 2024 with more groundbreaking news in relation to the gaming world. It seems like Epic Games constantly makes headlines whether it be for positive or negative reasons. However, the news regarding Disney taking a $1.5 billion stake in Epic Games is something has almost everyone talking right now. Apparently, Disney’s latest investment in Epic Games is apart of a large scale plan that involves the productions of brand new games along with the creation of an entertainment universe within the course of the next several years. Disney will have be working more with the Fortnite creators which means will most likely be seeing big Marvel projects from Epic Games sometime in the future. While this is exciting news many wonder how Disney’s partnership with Epic Games will affect whatever relationship Disney has with entities such as Apple and Google. Its no secret that Epic Games had legal issues with both Apple & Google in the past and its likely that Disney could potentially end up on the bad side of both corporations. Despite, Fortnite not being quite as popular as it was during the late 2010’s the franchise had at least 650 million registered players this past year in 2023. There are millions to be made by both Disney and Epic Games as both companies consolidate their partnership.
