Everyone knows about X-Men ’97 is one of the most anticipated animated series of 2023. Based on what we know X-Men ’97 is supposed to be a continuation of the original animated series that aired on the Fox Kids Network from late ’92 to 1997. The X-Men: Animated Series from the 90’s was one of the most popular kids shows from that decade; along with the Spider-Man animated series from the 90’s. X-Men ’97 is something that nobody expected a few years ago but its obvious Marvel is trying to bring back lapsed fans of the X-Men series. X-Men has not been as popular as once was especially following Disney’s acquisition of the Marvel franchise back in 2009. The bastardization of the X-Men series is something that many feel harmed its popularity especially since the franchise is more campy and kid-friendly than it was during the 90’s and 2000’s. The original X-Men animated series was made for kids but it was darker and edgier than your average children show. X-Men ’97 seems like it might follow the same formula as the original X-Men series which sounds pretty cool. However, X-Men ’97 is supposed to appear exclusively on Disney+ sometime before the end of 2023. Seeing how subscriptions for Disney+ had dropped by at least four million within the first few months of 2023 its also likely X-Men ’97 could be a desperation move to bring more people back.
