For an action adventure game Luigi’s Mansion was a pretty solid title for the Nintendo GameCube back in the early 00’s.  Since its release back in the Fall of 2001 Luigi’s Mansion had managed to sell over 3 million units worldwide on the Nintendo GameCube.  Also, the Luigi’s Mansion game stood out because it was unlike anything the we have seen in the Super Mario series.  Considering how successful Luigi’s Mansion was there are some who question whether or not the game should have been ported for the Nintendo Wii seeing how successful the game was for the GameCube between 2001-2002.

While a re-release for the Nintendo Wii could have worked for the Nintendo Wii there is a good chance that Luigi’s Mansion could have been easily overshadowed by games such as Super Mario Galaxy, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and others if that were to happen.   While Luigi’s Mansion had done pretty well in terms of sales for GameCube the game wasn’t a game that many people were anxious to see re-released for any other game console during the 00’s.
