The Mortal Kombat Trilogy series was very popular back in the 90’s since it was released for multiple game including Nintendo 64, PS1 and Sega Saturn.  Despite, how much fun Mortal Kombat Trilogy was there are some who are interested on why it was never released for the Sega Dreamcast.  To be honest it would not have made to much sense to release Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the Sega Dreamcast.

Mortal Kombat Trilogy was released on multiple game consoles back in 1996 and by the time Dreamcast was released in 1998 we already had Mortal Kombat 4 which was a 3D title that everyone was interested in since 2D gaming was starting to become stale around that time.  Besides Mortal Kombat Gold was released for the Sega Dreamcast back in 1999; if Mortal Kombat Trilogy was released on the Sega Dreamcast cast it could have easily have been overshadowed by 3D titles that were in high demand.
