Metal Gear Solid for the PS1 is known to be one of the best action adventure stealth games of the late 90’s. Ever since Metal Gear Solid was released for the PS1 back in the Fall of 1998 the game has managed to sell over 6 million units worldwide which shows how popular the game was during that time period. But if Metal Gear Solid was released for the Nintendo 64 instead of the PS1 some would question whether or not the game would have had as much success as it did.

While the N64 seemed to have better 3D graphics and hardly any loading times for some reason it felt like many people were more interested in the PS1. The games made for the PS1 seemed more adult based while the N64 seemed bigger on promoting family friendly games such as Super Mario 64, Banjo Kazooie, Zelda: Ocarina of Time and many others. However, games such as GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark were also successful on the N64 as well. If Metal Gear Solid was released for the N64 back in the late 90’s the game could have still managed to sell millions. However, the Metal Gear Solid may not have been as much of a success on the N64 as it was on the PS1.
