Ever since Disgaea 5 was first released back in the Spring of 2015 many people have questioned why this title was not ported for handheld gaming devices such as the Nintendo 3DS or the PlayStation Vita.  After all Disgaea 4:  A Promise Revisted was released for the PlayStation Vita back in the Summer of 2014.  Even though, the game did not do too well in terms of sales on the PlayStation Vita it still could have been one of those games that would make gamers want to by the handheld console itself.

In fact some might argue that if Disgaea 5 was a man exclusive title for the PlayStation Vita it would have done much better in sales than it would have on the Nintendo Switch or the PS4 which is debatable.  While JRPG titles like Disgaea 5 are generally more popular on handheld consoles such as the Nintendo 3DS they also tend to well on home based game systems if they are marketed a certain way.
