When comes down to classic games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series it’s sometimes difficult to tell which 2D side scrolling title was the best in the early 90’s. The first two Sonic games were and will always remain memorable classics for the Sega Genesis. But when it comes down to Sonic CD and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 its sometimes difficult to choose on game over the other in terms of quality and replay value. While the storyline for Sonic CD included new characters such as Metal Sonic and Amy rose to the series there were also elements dealing with time travel that made the game itself interesting.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3 was amazing because not only did Sega introduce Knuckles the Echidna a new character it was also the only title in the series where Michael Jackson was involved in developing the soundtrack for game itself. When it comes down to soundtracks all of the Sonic games were great but Sonic 3 probably stood out the most out during the 16 bit era. In terms of gameplay, graphics and overall replay value it’s pretty tough to choose one title over the other.
