When it comes down to the gaming world the cost of accessories such as controllers, headsets along with consoles themselves are unusually expensive.  When the original PS4 console was released it averaged around $399 in terms of cost.  That paled in comparison to the Xbox One which was released for $499 back in 2014.  When the Nintendo Switch was released back in March 2017 it averaged between $249-$299 depend whether or not you purchased a bundle pack.

When video games along with consoles such as Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo were released back in the 90’s they were in the $100-$300 price range.  The cost of a VR headset for the PS4 is ridiculous.  Even though, Virtual Reality is the next big thing in gaming having a headset that cost more than an actual console is something that many people would find absurd.   

 While technology companies such as Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo continue to make millions through their consoles customers are always determined to have the their latest products.  While online gaming greatly contributes to the over cost of enjoying video games it does not seem like that sales for consoles like PS4 and Xbox One are starting to decline anytime soon.
