As it relates to groundbreaking news within the gaming world one of the things that we learned about recently that had everyone talking is the Kingdom Hearts series. It has been recently revealed that Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMix along with the 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III; will be appearing in the Switch console within the upcoming year. There is no doubt that Square Enix wanted to do something special for the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series which started back in 2002. The announcement regarding the the Kingdom’s Hearts series coming to the Nintendo Switch comes shortly after learning that Sora will be appearing as a DLC character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Sora appearing on a high profile Nintendo game outside of the KH series is approximately 2 decades in the making and has everyone within the gaming world buzzing. The only problem with the series of Kingdom Hearts coming to the Switch is that there will be no physical copies of any of them. Instead Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 +2.5 ReMix, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III will be available on the Switch console through cloud gaming.
There is no specific reason as to why the Kingdom Hearts titles are not receiving physical releases; but it’s possible that Square Enix know that each game carries way to much gigabytes that exceeds what the Switch cartridges can handle. Its also possible that physical copies of the two Kingdoms Hearts HD titles and Kingdom Hearts III might not be as successful as the PS4 & Xbox One ports from 2017. Either way, the fact that we are getting about nine games from the Kingdom Hearts series on the Switch console is exciting news by itself. As it currently stands the official release date for the cloud versions of the nine Kingdom Hearts titles is unknown. There is also uncertainty on what the prices will be like for the Switch versions of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 +2.5 ReMix, 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom III. Nintendo along with Square Enix are most likely to reveal more details about each game as it relates to the Switch console in the next few months.
