When it comes down to high profile video games of ’22 one of the few highly successful titles to have been released on the Switch console this year is Splatoon 3. Since its initial release back in September 2022 Splatoon 3 has managed to reach over 3.4 million copies in worldwide sales. Splatoon 3 is basically one of the very few high profile Switch games to have been released this year because we are still waiting for the upcoming releases of Bayonetta 3 along with Pokemon: Scarlett and Violet. Also, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is not coming out until mid 2023 so its not surprising why Splatoon 3 stood out so much in 2022. While the art design, fast-paced gameplay and story mode are all strong positives as it relates to Splatoon 3; a handful of people had issues with the online multiplayer gameplay in Splatoon 3 main because the servers are either lagging or shuts off. Despite, how good Splatoon 3 is a handful of people believe that Nintendo should have saved this game for their next generation game system. In terms of online multiplayer gameplay Nintendo has never really been on par with Sony or Microsoft in terms of quality but they rarely release video games that are universally panned by critics such as Babylon’s Fall or Overwatch 2. Splatoon 3 is probably one of the few high profile games from 2022 that was good similar to Elden ring but to a lesser extent.
