There is no question that Far Cry 6 is one of the most highly anticipated video games of 2021. There are many people who have bee waiting to see Far Cry 6 since its predecessor was released back in March 2018. As many people know Far Cry 5 was one of the most popular first person shooter games of ’18; after its first week of sales Far Cry 5 reportedly hit over $310 million in terms of sales in revenue for Ubisoft. While the storyline for Far Cry 5 was debatable in terms of quality the visuals and gameplay for that title were considered to be strong points by critics and gamers alike. However, the optimal quality of Far Cry 5 does not come as much of a surprise to many people since the budget for game ranged between $80-130 million. In fact, Far Cry 5 may have very well have been the best selling installment within the entire series since the inception of the franchise back in 2004. There many people who wonder whether or not Far Cry 6 will be able to surpass the critically acclaimed FC5 game in terms of sales.
As it currently stands we know that Far Cry 6 will be available on a variety of different game systems including PS5, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, Microsoft Windows and even Amazon Luna. Its also been revealed that Far Cry 6 will have a new producer along with new composer in comparison to what we got in FC5. This upcoming Far Cry game will see Darryl Long replaced with Omar Bouali who has been with Ubisoft for over fifteen years now. In the music department Dan Romer will be replaced by a Brazilian musician named Pedro Bromfman; who has worked on games such as Max Payne 3 from ’12 and Need For Speed: Heat which came out in 2019. As far as the plot for Far Cry 6 is concerned we know basic details about it in relation to setting taking place on a Caribbean Island. We also know the main protagonist is guerrilla fighter by the name of Dani Rojas who seek to overthrow the dictatorship headed by Anton Castillo; who is going to be the main antagonist for Far Cry 6.
We still have no idea whatsoever on what the official release date for Far Cry 6 is going to be. It was reported back in 2020 that Far Cry 6 was originally scheduled to be released in February 2021. However, the release date for Far Cry 6 has been delayed due to the issues that the COVID-19 pandemic has been causing on a global scale. Even though, Far Cry 6 will not be released in February 2021 this gives the Ubisoft Toronto ample time to polish and beta test the game before its official release later in the year.
