When it comes down to wrestling games of the 90’s WrestleMania 2000 was probably one of the best that the world has ever seen along with games like WCW/NWO Revenge. WrestleMania 2000 was released by Asmik Ace Entertainment and the AKI Corporation and published by THQ in 1999. When this game was first released many people were impressed by various features that it had to offer. The Road to WrestleMania mode was impressive because it allowed people to play throughout a series of matches on various show and pay per views including King of the Ring, Summerslam, Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania itself. Throughout the Road to WrestleMania mode players have the opportunities to win various championships such as European, Intercontinental, Tag Team along with the World title. One of the cool things about the Road to WrestleMania mode was that more emphasis was placed on in ring action rather than actual storylines and cutscenes which its successor No Mercy focused more on during its release in 2000.
Other than season mode WrestleMania 2000 provided players with various different match types including Single, Tag-Team, King of the Ring and Cage matches which were all very exciting. However, if one played against the CPU even on normal mode they would soon discover how challenging the artificial intelligence this game was in comparison to WCW/NWO Revenge. While the gameplay and visuals were similar to WCW/NWO Revenge this game was somewhat better because included various thing such as entrance music and titantrons. In addition, to having better entrances WrestleMania 2000 allowed people to create the own wrestler which was something that really made this game stand out from WCW/NWO Revenge. Another thing that stood out abut WrestleMania 2000 was the game mode that allowed players to create their own pay per views and championships which was really cool. If one was a hardcore fan of pro wrestling during the Attitude Era then WrestleMania 2000 was a game that one could spend hours or even years playing because its high replay value.
