Could DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors have worked on the SNES?

When we think about underrated fighting games that were considered to be classics one of the many titles that comes to ind is DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors released during the early 90’s. Following its arcade release back in 1994 DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors was eventually ported to the PS1 in 1996 and later on for the PS2 during 2005. As cool as DarkStalkers was back in the mid 90’s some question why Night Warriors was never ported for the SNES in 1996.

It’s possible that a 16-bit Super Nintendo version of DarkStalkers: Night Warriors would have been noticeably inferior to the arcade and PS1 version many of the game. Also, the PS1 was starting to become very popular during the mid 90’s and having a fighting title like DarkStalkers: The Night Warriors on any other console would have been a huge mistake on Capcom’s part.
